Welcome to the Civil Rights Leader Collection!

Currently Accepting Proposals for

Black History Month 2018

We are currently accepting proposals for our educational and community service project titled Black History Student-centered Learning Experiences through Art 2018.

If your proposal is selected, the Civil Rights Leader Portrait Collection will be placed on display at your location during Black History Month 2018. The artist Kevin Johnson will visit your location for an Artist Talk to describe his self-taught pencil art process and share his passion for art. He will discuss in detail the development of the portraits titled King, Malcolm, Rosa, and Coretta.

Guidelines: Your proposal must describe your vision for incorporating the four pencil-drawn portraits into student-centered learning experiences. You must be located in Northern VA, DC, or Southern MD and have a location to securely display four glass-front framed 16" x 20" portraits.

In your proposal, include (1) your contact information, (2) your location information, (3) a description of the secure location where the four glass-front framed 16" x 20" portraits will be displayed, and (4) your vision for incorporating the four pencil-drawn portraits into student-centered learning experiences in 150-250 words.

Deadline: Submit your proposal by December 11, 2017. Send your proposal to Katrina Joseph at info@kevinjohnsonart.com. For more information, call us at (202) 810-5592.
